Starting your cryptocurrency journey with Trezor is straightforward and secure. First, download the Trezor Suite application from our official website and select your operating system. The application is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring accessibility regardless of your platform preference.
Once installed, connect your Trezor hardware wallet to your computer via USB. The Suite will automatically recognize your device and guide you through initialization. During this process, you'll create a PIN code—a crucial security layer that protects your wallet when the device is connected to untrusted computers.
The most critical step is backing up your recovery seed. This is a 12 or 24-word phrase that can restore your entire wallet if your device is lost or damaged. Write this seed on paper and store it in a secure location. Never share this seed with anyone, and never type it into your computer. This seed is your ultimate backup—with it, anyone can access your funds.
After setup, you're ready to receive and manage cryptocurrency. You can import existing cryptocurrency addresses or create new ones within Trezor Suite. To transfer funds from exchanges, generate a receiving address in Suite, copy it, and use it on the exchange to withdraw your crypto directly to your Trezor device.
